Jochen Rindt won the Monaco Grand Prix on this day in 1970.
The legendary Austrian, starting from eighth, worked his way through the field. Taking advantage of other drivers suffering mechanical misfortunes, Rindt won by 23sec from Jack Brabham.
The race was noteworthy for being Bruce McLaren's final race, as well as a young Ronnie Peterson's first.
Rindt would win four more races that season, en-route to being crowned Formula 1's only ever posthumous world champion.
