Pol Espargaró becomes a KTM test rider this year, after ten years racing full-time in MotoGP with Yamaha, Honda and KTM/GASGAS. The 2013 Moto2 world champion never won a MotoGP race, but he was always fast, scoring three pole positions and eight podiums between 2018 and 2022. In 2017 he became one of KTM's first MotoGP riders when the Austrian manufacturer contested its first premier-class season and the following year he made history by taking the RC16's first MotoGP podium, at a very wet Valencia.
