I will not be attending this year's British Grand Prix, having been to dozens of them over the past 50 Formula 1 seasons, and I am remarkably sanguine about that. I will watch it at home, with a glass of something cold and effervescent to hand, the Sky Sports F1 TV pictures enhanced (in my opinion) by the commentary of Crofty and co. When I was a teenager, falling in love with F1 in its most golden (but also most dangerous) era, the 1960s and 1970s, the TV commentary was delivered first by Raymond Baxter then by Murray Walker (both tout seul), and the British Grand Prix used to alternate venue...
