Last weekend's extravaganza was not, of course, the first Grand Prix in Las Vegas. In both 1981 and '82 the Caesars Palace grands prix were last-round title-deciders (Piquet vs Reutemann in '81, Rosberg vs Watson in '82) around a temporary Las Vegas track.
