The legendary Jim Clark won the Dutch Grand Prix on this day in 1965.
There was drama before the race, as Lotus team boss Colin Chapman punched a local policeman. Chapman was arrested hours after the race and detained for two days.
At the start of the race, Clark found his Lotus battling with title rival Graham Hill before the Englishman fell back with rev counter problems. Clark was left to duel with fellow Scot Jackie Stewart, eventually triumphing to win by eight seconds.
The win all but ensured Clark would be champion as it left Graham Hill needing to win all of the remaining four races to have any chance of catching the Scotsman.
