One of the most ingenious cars in Grand Prix history took it's one and only win on this day in 1976.
Tyrrell's P34, to date the only Formula 1 car to race with six wheels, was raced to victory in the 1976 Swedish Grand Prix by Jody Scheckter.
Starting on pole, Scheckter's Tyrrell was behind the Lotus 77 of Mario Andretti for much of the race. However, an engine failure for Andretti on lap 46 allowed the six wheeler to race to victory. Patrick Depailler finished second in the sister Tyrrell, meaning the three cars on the podium possessed 16 wheels combined!
