On this day in 1964, the French Grand Prix saw Jack Brabham's team score their first grand prix victory.
Qualifying second behind Jim Clark's Lotus, Dan Gurney benefitted from the fast-but-fragile Lotus 25 suffer an engine failure. The American coaxed his Brabham BT7 across the line to take the first ever victory for Jack Brabham's team, only formed two years previously.
It's testament to the work that was being done at the new team that less than three years after their first victory, Brabham would be crowned Constructors' Champions in 1966.
