Ayrton Senna navigated a chaotic race to win the Brazilian Grand Prix for the second and final time on this day in 1993.
Qualifying third behind the dominant Williams-Renaults of Alain Prost and Damon Hill, Senna pitted for wet tyres amid a sudden torrential downpour. Race leader Prost elected to stay on slicks and paid the price, colliding with Christian Fittipaldi and retiring from the race.
Senna then overtook Prost's team-mate Hill and went on to win by 16sec from the Englishman, in front of an adoring São Paulo crowd. It was the Brazilian's last home victory, as well as McLaren's 100th victory in Formula 1.
